연 4주간 높은 산을 오르내리느라고 다리에 무리가 왔다.
무릎에 가끔 찌르는 듯 통증이 와서 걸음을 멈추게 되는데 그 증상은 1월 유럽 여행 후 나타난 현상이다.
좀 쉬면 부기가 가라 앉아서 괜찮았는데 매주 무리하게 산을 오르내리다 보니 또 무릎이 부어오르고 걷기에 힘이 든다.
아직 봐야 할 것도 많고 산에 올라야 할 것도 많은데 무릎이 탈이 나 버리면 말짱 도루묵이 된다.
이 고산구슬붕이는 아직 담은 적이 없어서 꼭 봐야 하는 녀석이었다.
설악산을 오르기에는 너무 힘들고 용늪으로 갈까 하여서 예약까지 했는데 단체가 움직여야 하는 보안 지역이라서
고산구슬붕이를 촬영하기 위하여 개인적으로 움직일 수 없는 것 같아서 포기하고
결국 또 다른 자생지인 이 곳을 오를 수 밖에 없었다.
아주 느릿느릿 꾸준하게 걸어서 4시간 30분만에 정상을 오르긴 했는데 내려오는 길도 결국 3시간이 걸렸다.
다리에 무리가 와서 평지길도 속도를 낼 수 없을 정도로 힘이 들었다.
원래 산을 잘 타지 못하는 데다가 몇 주 연속하여 산을 오르내리는 일정을 소화시키다 보니 아주 지쳐 버린 거였다.
아직 다리가 탈 나면 안되는데....방학 때 백두산도 댕겨 와야하는데 ........
오랜 봄 가뭄이 진행되어 산 정상부의 고산구슬붕이는 노랗게 타들어 가고 있는 중이었는데
그래도 질긴 생명이라 한 두 송이 꽃을 피우고 있는 몇 포기를 반갑게 마주 하였다.
고산구슬붕이는 꽃받침 열편이 좁은 선형으로 화통에 붙어서 벌어지지 않는다.
뿌리잎과 1-2장의 아래쪽 줄기잎은 난형이지만 위족 줄기잎이 좁은 선형으로 줄기에 바짝 붙어 있는 특징을 가지고 있다.
다들 보현산의 구슬붕이를 고산구슬붕이로 오해를 하고 있는데
이 고산구슬붕이를 보면 보현산의 구슬붕이와 확실하게 비교가 될 것이다.

고산구슬붕이의 특징은 줄기잎과 꽃받침 열편의 모양에 있다.
꽃받침 열편과 줄기잎이 선형으로 줄기과 꽃통부에 바짝 붙어 있다.
한라산의 흰그늘용담도 이런 모습을 하고 있다.
뿌리잎과 줄기 아래쪽 1-2마디의 잎은 난형을 하고 있다.
잎 겨드랑이에 꽃줄기를 물고 있지만 가뭄으로 더 자라지 못하고 정지 상태이다
그제 비가 제법 내렸으니 이 녀석들이 기운을 얻어서 꽃줄기가 자라나리라 기대해 본다
옆의 녀석은 가뭄을 견디지 못하고 사망하여 주검으로 뒹굴고 있고
이 녀석은 겨우 한 개의 꽃줄기를 올리긴 했는데 꽃도 피우지 못하고 아사 직전이다.
잎 겨드랑이에는 자라날 꽃줄기를 품은 채 말이다.
비가 내렸다 아가야. 힘을 내어서 꽃을 피우거라
풀숲이 우거진 곳에는 그나마 싱싱한 녀석이 드물게 보인다.
겨우 꽃을 피운 녀석을 찾아서 꽃등애가 허기진 배를 채우고 있다.
