백두대간 고갯마루 북사면 골짝은 새 소리조차 없이 조용하기만 하다.

계곡으로 들어서니 진흙탈 곳곳에 멧돼지가 목욕한 흔적이 눈에 들어 온다.

 

괭이눈 한 녀석을 찾느라고 겁도 없이 들어 서긴 했지만

멧돼지가 나타날까봐 뒤통수가 서늘하고 머리털이 쭈삣쭈삣 서는 기분이다 .

 

이태 전 이 녀석을 새밥일까 하고 내심 기대했던 녀석인데

그 때는 아마도 날이 가물어서 화서가 충분하게 자라지 못해서 달라 보였던 것 같다.
