개박하(꿀풀과 개박하속)

도로변 절개지 사면에 개박하가 무더기로 서식하고 있다.

아마도 절개지 사면에 뿌린 종자들 속에 개박하가 함께 뿌려진 것 같다

 

도로 공사가 끝 난 이듬해 보면 사면 절개지에서 난데 없는 외래종 꽃들이 마구 피어난다.

도로 건설 후 사면에 식물을 심어야 하는 것도 공사 계약상에 필수 사항으로 들어 있는 것 같다

 

공사 업체에서는 국내에서는 많은 양의 식물 종자를 구할 수 없어서 그런지 몰라도 대부분 외래식물 종자를 뿌려 놓는다

마구잡이로 뿌려 놓은 외래식물들은 생태계를 혼란시키는 문제를 일으키게 된다

 

울릉도에서도 그런 모습을 보고 많이 걱정이 되었더랬다

이런 현상에 대하여 심각하게 생각해 봐야 할 텐데 아무도 그런 점에 대하여 신경을 쓰지 않는 모양이다

개박하가 이 곳에 살게 된 것도 위와 같은 경로로 그렇게 되었을 것이다
