개박달나무(자작나무과 자작나무속) 동아

지난 가을 팔공산에서 대팻집나무를 찾아 헤매다가 능선부를 우점하고 있던 개박달나무를 살펴 볼 기회가 있었더랬다.

그 때 개박달나무 단지(짧은가지)도 벌레같은 주름이 있다는 새로운 발견을 하였다.

 

 

 

 

단지의 주름은 잎이 모여나기 하듯이 다닥다닥 붙어 있고 가지가 거의 자라지 않기 대문에 나타나는 흔적이다.

대팻집나무의 단지가 벌레 주름이 유난스럽긴 하지만 개박달나무의 단지도 주름이 제법 있었던 것을.

 

 

 

 

 

바위가 많은 능선부에 자라는 개박달나무라서 가지가 주욱주욱 자랄 수 있는 환경이 아니니

단지가 많이 형성될 수 밖에 없었을 것이다.
