종덩굴이 황금색 머리털을 반짝이면서 열매를 익히고 있다.
숲 가장자리라 하지만 도로변에 이렇게 풍성하게 식생이 형성되어 꽃쟁이를 즐겁게 한다.
소엽이 3장인 세잎종동굴에 비하여 소엽의 수가 5~7장이고
꽃대에 2개의 포엽이 있다
꽃대에 2개의 포엽이 있다.(세잎종덩굴은 포엽이 없다)
잎은 마주나고 5-7개의 소엽으로 구성되며 정엽이 덩굴손으로 변하는 것이 있다.
소엽은 난형 내지는 난상 타원형이고 길이 3~6cm로서 첨두이며 원저 또는 아심장저이고 표면에는 털이 없으나
뒷면에는 약간의 털이 있으며 가장자리는 톱니가 없으나 2-3개로 갈라지는 것이 있다.
