바위수국(수국과)Schizophragma hydrangeoides Siebold & Zucc.

제주의 곶자왈 숲에는 내륙에서는 볼 수 없는 바위수국과 등수국이 자생한다.

둘 다 덩굴성으로 나무를 타고 오른다.

 

바위수국은 중성화는 1개의 꽃받침으로되고 난상 원형이며 길이 3-3.5cm로서 백색이다.

등수국은 가장자리의 중성화는 꽃잎같은 3-4개의 꽃받침잎이있으며 가장자리에 톱니가 있고 지름 3㎝정도이다.

 

 이 녀석은 바위수국이다. 화서 가운데의 양성화는 아직 개화하지 않았다.

7월 경에 가지 끝에서 지름 20cm정도의 잔털이 있는 큰 취산화서가 발달하며

중성화는 1개의 꽃받침으로 되고 난상 원형이며 길이 3-3.5cm로서 백색이다.

양성화는 꽃잎이 5장이며 수술은 10개이고 암술은 1개이다. 

 

 

 

잎은 대생하며 넓은 난형 또는 아심장형이고 짧은 점첨두이며 원저 또는 심장저이고 치아상의 예리한 톱니가 있으며 길이와 폭이 각각 5-12cm로서 양면에 털이 거의 없거나 간혹 맥위에 잔털이 있고 엽병은 길이 3-7cm로서 붉은 빛이 돈다.
