계곡을 올라가는 달밭골에 만삼이 가득하다. 집 앞에 심어서 밭을 이루고 있다.
더덕과 소경불알은 꽃 속에 자색이 있는데 만삼은 전체가 녹색을 띠고 잎도 작고 어긋나기로 있다.
잎은 호생하지만 짧은 가지에서는 대생하고 난형 또는 난상 타원형이며 둔두 원저이고
길이 1-5cm, 나비 1-3.5cm로서
양면에 잔털이 있으며 특히 맥 위에 많고
표면은 녹색, 뒷면은 분백색이며
가장자리가 보통 밋밋하고
엽병은 길이 2-3cm로서 털이 있다
