향부자(사초과 방동사니속) Cyperus rotundus L.

방동사니속 녀석들  서너 종을 아직 보지 못한 게 있는데 그 중한 녀석이 향부자였다.

제주에서촬영 된 자료가 검색이 되길래 이 번에 내려와서 찾아 봐야겠다고 하며

가는 곳 마다 풀밭을 두리번 거렸더니 결국 녀석을 만났다.

 

일출봉 주변에 나타난 낯이 선 방동사니속 녀속이 아마도 향부자일 것 같다 생각했더니

도감과 검색을 해 본 결과 제대로 만난 게 맞았다.

 

두 군데서 만났다. 번식하는 세력이 만만치는 않은 것 같은데....

향부자는 보통 땅속줄기로서 번식한다. 번식력이 강하여 어린뿌리 한개에서 수백 포기가 발생한다.

 

향부자는 밑부분에 낡은 덩이줄기가 있어 굵어지고 근경은 옆으로 길게 뻗으며 끝부분에 덩이줄기가 생기고 수염뿌리가 내린다.

덩이줄기의 살은 백색이며 향기가 있다. 근경을 향부자(香附子)라고 하며 약재로 쓰인다.
