왕잔디(벼과 잔디속) Zoysia macrostachya Franch. & Sav.

이 녀석을 한 번은 봐야지 했었다.

마침 울진 동해안으로 과제 촬영 차 함께 가기로 했기에  이 녀석을 만나길 기대 했었는데 

정신 없이 순비기를 촬영하는데  해안 모래 언덕에 이 녀석이 눈에 들어 오는 게 아닌가.

 

앞서 처음 보는 벼과 줄기에 갸웃거렸던 그 녀석이 왕잔디였던 것이다.

화서가 없어서 몰라 보았는데 한쪽에서는 소수가 여물고 있고 한쪽에서는 꽃밥을 달랑 거리고 있었다. 

과제고 뭐고 뒷전이고 이 녀석 먼저 끌어 안고 만남의 반가움을 나누었다.

 

갯잔디에 이어 왕잔디까지,

올해 잔디란 이름 붙은 녀석들 거의 다 만났다. 이제 나도잔디만 남았다.

 

화서 아래 마지막 잎이 포처럼 화서를 감싸고 있고 화서와 소수가 가장 큰 잔디속이다.
