노지, 도로변 어디서나 흔하게 보이는 녀석이다.
땅속 줄기가 발달하고 가지는 마디에서 3-5개가 나오며 가지 끝 1/3~2/3 부분에 7~18개의 소수가 달린다.
소수 축은 무모, 소화는 2~5개, 호영 기반에 털이 있고 용골에 잔털이 있다.
소수는 녹색 또는 회색으로 자색이 감도는 경우가 많다.
엽설은 자른 모양, 둥근 모양 0.5~4mm 잎 너비 1~5mm
