도깨비가지(가지과 가지속) Solanum carolinense L.

댐 주변에 이 녀석이 있다는 이야기를 듣긴 했는데 흔적을 찾지 못했더니

우연하게 들어간 댐수변에 노랗게 익은 열매를 달고 무리지어 있었다.

꽤 넓은 면적에 개체들이 보이는지라 머잖아서 번식지가 많이 넓어질 것 같은데.......걱정스럽다.

 

북미 원산의 귀화식물로 국내에는 1978년에 처음 보고되었으며, 현재 전국적으로 분포한다.

1개체에 40~50개의 열매가 달리고, 열매 하나에 40~170개의 씨가 들어 있으며, 땅속줄기로 영양번식도 하기 때문에 빠른 속도로 퍼질 수 있다.
