고깔닭의장풀(닭의장풀과)

몇 년 별러서 이번에 제대로 개화 시기를 맞추었다.

2010년 땅속에서도 꽃을 피운다는 아열대 남방계식물로 발표되면서 대단한 반향을 불러 왔던 녀석이다.

일본과 대만 이남의 열대와 아열대에 분포하는 것으로 알려졌으나 제주에서 발견되면서 제주가 북방한계선이 됐다.

 

이 식물은 지상부에서 곤충에 의해 꽃가루받이를 해 깔때기 모양의 포에서 파란색 또는 보라색의 꽃을 피우며,

지하에서도 꽃잎은 퇴화하였지만 지상부에 피는 꽃과 같이 암술과 수술을 비롯한 다른 기관을 정상적으로 갖춘 꽃을 피우는 것으로 밝혔다.

닭의장풀에 비하여 꽃이 작고 전초에 부드러운 털이 밀생하고 있으며 잎 가장자리에 물결성 거치가 보이기도 한다.
