추묘공원 한 켠에 마치 부러 심어 놓은 원예종처럼 무리 지어 피어 있어서 처음에는 깜빡 속았다.
유럽 원산 귀화종인 이 녀석은 강원도 평창 주변에서 발견이 되었다는데 대구 아래 지역에서도 본 적이 있다.
줄기와 화경에 흰털이 많고 총포편에도 털이 많다.
두상화는 설상화로만 이루어져 있고 내총포편은 12-15개로 털이 많고, 외편은 길이가 내편의 1/3-1/2이며 털이 많다.
꽃은 설상화로만 이루어져 있다
총포에도 흰털이 많고 외총포편이 내총포에 비하여 아주 짧다
줄기 아래쪽 잎은 엉성하고 깊게 결각이 져 있다.
