이른 봄 2월 말 이 녀석을 보러 작은 봉에 올랐었더랬는데 의외의 장소에서 이 녀석을 만났다.
녀석은 관목대 습지에 분포하나 밑에서도 자라는 다년초로 설악산과 한라산이 분포지로 되어 있는데
그러고 보면 개구리갓은 제주도 여기 저기에 흔하게 만날 수 있는 녀석일 것으로 추측된다.
꽃받침과 꽃자루, 잎 가장자리에는 성글게 털이 나 있다.
근생엽은 이렇게 결각이 얕은 3소엽 혹은 단엽이 나타나고
3소엽의 잎은 줄기 위쪽으로 가면서 잎의 결각이 깊어지는데 그 정도가 다양하게 나타났다.
이 녀석의 줄기 중간의 경생엽은 1-4개로서 엽병이 없고
긴 피침형으로 3개로 완전히 갈라지며 열편은 다소 선형이고 끝이 둔하다.
지난 번에는 차마 뿌리를 캐 보지 못하였지만 이번에는 개체가 많고 한적한 곳이라서 뿌리를 확인할 수가 있었다.
여러 개의 방추형 괴경이 밀집해서 붙어 있는 모습을 하고 있었는데 매우 얕게 묻혀 있었다.
이른 봄에 꽃을 피우는 식물들은 대체로 둥근 알뿌리를 가지고꽃을 피우기 위한 영양분을 공급하고 있다.
