고산의 식물에는 <구름>이란 접두어 많이 붙는다. <두메>란 접두어도 마찬가지로 고산 식물을 의미한다.
백두산의 식물에는 이 구름과 두메 를 앞세운 이름이 많다.
근생엽은 총생하고 엽병과 더불어 길이 4.5-8cm(엽병 길이 2-3cm)로서 꽃이 필 때도 남아 있다. 경생엽은 4(2-6)개씩 윤생하며 근생엽보다 작고 긴 타원형 또는 난상 긴 타원형이며 길이 2-3cm, 나비 5-10mm로서 우상으로 깊게 또는 완전히 갈라지고 우편은 5-7쌍이며 긴 타원형이고 톱니가 있다.
높이 5-15cm이며 줄기는 밑이 원주형이고 윗부분은 다소 네모지며 능각에 부드러운 털이 있고 밑에서 가지가 갈라져 여러대가 뭉쳐난다.
