어저귀(아욱과)

제주의 식물이라 보기에는 곤란하겠지만 이 녀석도 귀화 식물이라서 제주도에는 쉽게 보이는 모양이다.

내 사는 동네 근처에서는 몇 년 전 어디선가 한번 본 적은 있다.

잎과 줄기에 밀모가 있어서 벨벳같은 귀화식물이지만 우점하지 않고 열매가 이쁘고 꽃이 고와서 밉지 않는 녀석이다.

 

인도가  원산지로 한국 각처에서 나는 한해살이 귀화식물이다. 어저귀는 땅이 기름진 정도에 따라 1.5m 정도까지 자란다.

노란색 꽃이 피며, 씨가 10-15개 들어 있는 열매를 맺는다. 이 열매에는 중앙에서 가장자리로 우산살 같은 돌기가 나 있다.
