괭이밥(괭이밥과)

붉은괭이밥이란 이름은 국가표준식물목록에는 없다. 그런데 다들 그렇게 부른다.

괭이밥은 꽃잎이 노랗지만 붉은괭이밥은 전초에 자색 기운이 강하고 화관 안쪽에 붉은 테가 있다.

그래서 붉은괭이밥이라 그러는 모양이다. 일반 괭이밥도 겨울이나 이른 봄에 보면 추위를 견디느라고

줄기와 잎이 붉게 변하는 경우가 있는데 이는 기후에 적응 하기 위하여 색이 변하는 것 같다.

 

괭이밥 종류들의 하트형 잎을 씹으면 새큼한 맛이 난다. 며느리밑씻개나 며느리배꼽의 잎도 신맛이 강하다

어릴 적 신맛이 나는 이피리를 일없이 따서 먹기도 했는데 신 것을 <새구랍다> 고 하여 시금치나물이라 불렀었다.
