안 그래도 안부차 전화를 하려고 했었는데 우연하게도 만나서 어찌나 반갑던지.

한참 그 간의 이야기를 나누니 더 늦기 전에 공부를 시작했다고 한다.

제주의 식물과 양치식물을 꿰뚫고 있던 그가 인간과 제주의 숲과의 인문 지리학적으로 접근하는

박사 과정을 등록하여 공부를 한다는 소식에 박수를 치면서 부럽다는 생각을 했다.

퇴임 후 선뜻 공부를 시작하지 못하고 주저하다가 포기를 한 내 용기 없음이 후회되기도 한다.

 

동무가 숲을 이리저리 헤치고 다니더니 한 번도 와 보지 못한 장소를 안내하여 주어서 

아주 풍선한 모습을 만날 수 있었다.
