개똥참외라고?(박과 참외속) Cucumis melo var. agrestis Naudin

밭에 심은 작물은 안 보이고 온 밭에 개똥참외가 주렁주렁한다.

이 녀석은 개똥참외라고들 부르는데 정확한 국명도 없고 학명도 모르겠다.

 

꽃동무가 알려준 학명 Cucumis melo var. agrestis으로 확인해 보니 전 세계적으로 분포하는 녀석이다.

결국  참외 Cucumis melo 의 동의어로 보고 있었다.

국가에 따라 침입 외래종으로 분류한 국가도 있다.
