서양메꽃(메꽃과 서양메꽃속) Convolvulus arvensis L.

서양메꽃은 화색이 연분홍색 또는 흰색으로 국내에 유입된 녀석은 화색이 흰색이다.

몽골에서는 좀메꽃과 화색이 거의 비슷하여 구분이 어려웠다.

 

잎이 선형에 가까운 가는 좀메꽃에 비하여 서양메꽃은 잎이 넓은 난형 또는 긴타원형으로

이 녀석을 서양메꽃으로 동정한다.

 

잎은 어긋나며, 난형 또는 긴 타원형으로 길이 2~7cm, 폭 1~5cm,

밑부분은 좌우로 갈라져서 화살 모양으로 되고, 가장자리가 밋밋하며 끝은 둥글다.
