새우나무(자작나무과 새우나무속) Ostrya japonica Sarg.

워낙 크게 자라는 교목이라 꽃이나 열매 담기가 어려운 녀석이다

서어나무나 개서어, 까치박달 열매와 비슷하게 달리긴 한데 열매의 포가 참 특이한 주머니형이다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

어린가지와 엽병, 화경에 선모와 긴털이 있다.

 

 

 

 

 

잎은 호생하고 난형 또는 난상 타원형이며 길이 5-13cm, 폭 3-5cm로서

 긴 점첨두이고 넓은 예저 또는 원저이며 복거치가 있고 측맥은 8-17쌍이며

 

처음에는 양면에 곧추선 잔털(연모)이 있어 비로드처럼 보이며 나중에는 없어지나 뒷면 맥상에만 끝까지 남는다.

엽병은 길이 2-8mm로서 털과 선모(腺毛)가 드문드문 있다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

과포가 주머니 모양이다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

수피는 적갈색을  띠며 오래되면 수피가 세로로 벗겨진다
