함경북도 관모봉에 자생하는 한국 고유종이다.
해발고도 2,500m 정도의 높은 산에 나는 여러해살이풀로 높이 50cm 정도로 자란다.
뿌리잎은 피침형으로 끝은 점차 좁아지며 밑은 얇은 심장형이다. 화서는 구형 또는 타원형이고 살색의 꽃이 밀생한다.
