이 산에서 보면 개회향은 바위 암벽이나 건조하고 척박한 곳에
고본은 풀이 있는 바닥에 주로 서식을 하고 있다.
| 1. 키 : 개회향 10~30cm, 고본 30~80cm. 전체 키는 개회향이 작음 2. 향기 : 둘 다 한약 냄새 같은 향기가 강함. 3. 잎모양 : 개회향은3~4회 깃꼴겹잎, 고본은 3회 깃꼴겹잎. 개회향 : 풍성하게 달리고 열편이 실처럼 가늘고 짧으며 부드러우며 연약해 보임. 고본 : 열편이 개회향보다 길고 실이라기 보다 코스모스 잎 정도의 너비가 있으며 튼실한 느낌, 4. 소산경 : 개회향은 10개 미만이고, 고본은 15~20개 정도이다. |

개회향은 고본에 비하여 소형으로 소산경 수가 10개 미만으로 대부분 4~5개로 고본에 비하여 적다
잎의 열편이 짧고 고본에 비하여 가늘고 더 많은 3~4회 갈림이 있어서 잎이 더 풍성한 느낌을 준다
아래는 고본이다.
개회향에 비하여 열펴의 길이가 더 길고 너비도 더 넓다.
총산경의 수도 매우 많다.
