황새냉이와 흡사하여 구분하기 어려운 녀석이다.
깃꼴 잎의 정소엽(끝잎)이 갈라지지 않고 매우 크면 황새냉이로 본다.
좁쌀냉이는 정소엽이 3~5개로 갈라지져서 황새냉이와 다르다.
좁쌀냉이의 줄기에는 뽀얀 솜털이 많아서 황새냉이와 구분이 되기도 하지만
황새냉이도 환경에 따라 털이 없거나 있거나 많이 있기도 하여 크게 구분 점이 되지는 못한다
