갯국 유감(국화과 솔인진속) Ajania pacifica (Nakai) K.Bremer & Humphries = Dendranthema paci

흠~!! 일본산 갯국이 이 곳 갯가에 나타난 걸 처음 본 게 2019년이었다.
그 때는 십여 개체가 꽃 가지를 올리고 있었더랬는데, 해가 가면서 주변으로 많이 번식이 되었다.
올 해 이 녀석의 변이가 나타났다고 야단 법석이어서 정모 때 확인 봐야겠다 생각하고 있었는데.
현장에 가 보니 난장판이 되어 주변이 난리가 나 있었다.
조심 조심 촬영하고 간다면 문제가 없겠는데 멋진 그림 만든다고 위쪽을 모두 짓밟아 버렸다.
이미 촬영해 올려 놓은 사진을 보면 화색이 다른 모습이 꽤 큰 무더기로 보였는데 현장에 갔을 때는 겨우 한 가지만 남아있었다. 무슨 이유인지는 모르겠지만
가지를 죄다 꺾어서 주변에 던져 버린 모습도 발견이 되었다.
어쨋든 일본 원산의 갯국이 이 경주 해안에 갑자기 나타나(2019년 처음에는 몇 포기의 작은 무더기였다) 퍼지기 시작한다는 것도
자연스러운 현상은 아니어서 일탈했거나 인위적으로 심은 게 아니냐는 의문에 힘이 실릴 수 밖에 없는 것이었는데....
또 올해 붉은 설상화 꽃을 피우는 갯국 품종이 갑자기 나타난 것도 역시 사람의 장난이 들어 있을 수 있다는 의심이 들 수 밖에
어떤 이는 몇 년 전에 이 곳에 어떤 여자 분이 원예종 갯국 품종을 갯국 옆에 심는 장면을 목격했다는 이야기도 돌아다니고 있는 걸 보면 전에 없던 새 얼굴이 갑자기 나타난 것에 대한 의구심이 풀리는 것 같기도 하다.(원래 있던 갯국도 그 여자분과 관련이 있지 않을까 추정해 본다)
갯국 이미지를 검색해 보면 원예종으로 다양한 품종이 개발된 것을 알 수 있다.
그 중에 Ajania pacifica 'Pink Ice' 의 이미지가 이 논란의 중심에 있는 갯국 품종과 같은 종으로 보이는데
국가표준식물목록에도 재배식물에 등재되어 있다.

교잡종입네, 변이종입네 하며 논란을 일으킨 게 결국 어떤 사람의 장난으로 한바탕 해프닝이 된 것 같다.
# 근데 요석 갯국으로 다들 불렀더랬는데 국명 추천명을 갯국화로 기록해 두더니
이제는 다시 갯국으로 추천명을 올려 놓았네...에혀!!

갯국화 무더기의 위쪽(사진의 오른쪽)이 마구 밟아서 뭉개져 있다.
거기서 광각렌즈를 들이댄 모양이다.
