이스라지(장미과 벚나무속) Prunus nakaii H. Lév.

이스라지나무가 이렇게 큰 녀석은 처음 본다.

멀리서 봤을 때는 야생의 자두나무인가 싶어서 반갑게 달려갔는데

어쩐지 가지가 무척 가늘고 엽형도 달라보인다.

 

결국 꽃받침까지 확인하고서야 그제사 이스라지를 오해했다는 걸 깨달았다. 

평소에 보던 이스라지나무는 커 봐야 기껏 허리춤 정도였으니.

내 키보다 훨씬 더 큰 녀석한테 잠시라도 홀렸던 게 좀 멍청스럽게 느껴졌다.

 

혹시나 산이스라지는 어떨까 싶어서 확인해 봤지만

산이스라지는 잎자루가 2~3mm로 짧고 잎가장자리에 겹톱니가 있으며

작은 꽃자루 길이가 5~10mm라 하는데 자생 여부가 불분명하다고 한다
