매미꽃(양귀비과 매미꽃속) Coreanomecon hylomeconoides Nakai

전남지역에 가야만 만날 수 있는 매미꽃이 난데 없이 경북의 숲에 나타났다.
사찰 주변 숲에 꽃무릇을 많이 심어 놓은 걸 보면
아마도 그 꽃무릇 알뿌리를 가져올 때 매미꽃 씨앗도 함께 묻어 온 게 아닌가 싶다.
꽤 너른 면적에 퍼져 있는 모습을 보니 몇 년은 지난 것 같다.
피나물은 잎이 달린 꽃줄기 끝에 꽃을 달지만 이 녀석은 뿌리에서 바로 꽃줄기가 올라와서 꽃을 피운다.
매미꽃은 피나물보다 더 늦게 개화하며 여름 가까이 까지 꽃을 피운다.
